After being on both sides of the landscaping "fence" - as a purchaser and a supplier - Karen has a unique awareness of the landscape market. With an understanding and appreciation of the constantly changing environment for landscape projects, she formed the company to offer a distinctive service with a network of proven growers to meet the plant sourcing needs for the professional landscaper.

Karen Sklenicka created Karicka & Company in January 2008, after 13 years of experience in the commercial landscape market in Atlanta. She began her career with the plant broker, Buck Jones & Associates, after graduating from Auburn University with bachelor degrees in marketing and horticulture. In 1999, she went to work for the Morrell Group, one of the premier landscape firms in Atlanta at the time, as purchasing agent and contract administrator. In 2003, Karen joined Piedmont Landscape Contractors, and was soon promoted to branch manager of the installation division. During her tenure at Piedmont, the company climbed into Lawn and Landscape magazine's list of the top 50 landscapers in the country.
